We went to the doctor on Wednesday and he is 16 lbs 13 oz (50th %ile) and 27 in long (75th %ile). Still on the tall-side. :) When he grows up he can help me get things down from the top shelf! He got his flu shot, rotavirus oral vaccination, another round of his DTP, PCV, IHB, and IPV shots. They only did a total of 3 shots... the flu shot and the rest are combined into the other two. I got to hold him this time and he noticed the needles before she poked him and his lip began to curl and quiver! Then, after she gave him his first one he looked up at me and cried! I don't know who hurt worse- him or me!
But she said that everything looked good and they were all very complimentary of how happy he is and how beautiful his blue eyes are!
I have been off for the past few weeks due to winter break, so I have been a 'stay at home mom' for the past few weeks! I have enjoyed spending time with my littler booger and I foresee myself having a difficult time going back to work... He is such a joy to be around! We all gathered here at our house for Christmas dinner, which was wonderful!! It gave us time to spend just the three of us together at our house and not get wrapped up in traveling, packing to travel, etc. They were both very easy, stress-free days and that is what the holidays are about! Spending time with your family on a stress-free basis! :)
Here is a list of things he is doing or beginning to do now:
*completely hold his own bottle (started around 5 months, but has since mastered it)
*feeding himself with a spoon (not perfected yet, and boy does it get messy!)
*almost sitting up by himself... he can sit up and play, but you have to watch him and sit by him because he hasn't mastered the art of catching himself before falling
*he is now sitting in the front of the grocery store buggies- no more heavy and bulky carrier for us to drag around!!
*he still LOVES chewing on his toes/feet
*he is sleeping from around 8pm-730/8am
*he loves blowing bubbles and smiling!
